I'm John Batch with my colleagues Ernesto Arujo, former foreign minister of the Republic of Brazil,

and Joseph Umar, executive director of Secure Free Society.

We come to the news from Russia most recently, within hours.

Russian President Vladimir Putin appeared to downplay, not attending an economic summit in Johannesburg next month,

met a controversy over an arrest warrant issued against him by the International Criminal Court.

Putin's remarks came more than a week after South African authorities said he will not attend the August 22nd, 24th gathering.

This is a significant gathering of the bricks.

Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, but it has growth in mind.

Ernesto, Brazil is leading because it is the bee, and Lila de Silva has embraced bricks for the future of Brazil's trading,

so much so that they're talking about bilateral relations with all of the other membership.

What's important to me is that Russia's part of it, Putin is not attending because it would be arrested for war crimes,

and yet Brazil's going forward advancing, were told other members of the South American continent,

specifically Argentina and Venezuela.

What does Brazil hope to accomplish by bringing in two states, one profoundly troubled by debts?

The other one, a narco-terrorism state. How does that help Brazil?

Oh, it doesn't at all, but it helps Lila and it helps Lila's plans to make Brazil an important player in this sort of totalitarian block led by China and Russia,

and that's what bricks is becoming.
