We begin with the Taiwan controversy of these last days because it

speaks to decisions made in all the capitals of the Americas. Professor, a very good day to you.

Taiwan's president lie postpones America's visit after typhoon. This is a story from two days ago, but underneath it is the question

of transit in the U.S. Yes, there is an explanation for weather-related postponement, but more

profoundly there is the report, and it's not confirmed that the Trump administration refused stopover rights

to President Lai on his way to visit the few countries in the Americas that recognize Taipei

and not Beijing as the capital or as the significant city in East Asia.

The White House is not confirming this.

However, President Lai remains at home in Taipei and there will be no visit to Belize and

Paraguay at the very least.

What is the background of this?

How have the capitals of the Americas dealt with this dispute between Taipei and Beijing

these last years? And why is it that so many recognized Beijing? Was that out of pressure? Did

somebody twist their arms? Was their money involved? Good evening to you. Good evening to you, John. Well,
