I'm John Batsu with my colleague Professor Avin Ellis of the U.S. Army War College.

We've been wondering from presidency to presidency in the continent there are many more to go but

we're going to right now go to Peru because there's a double presidency here.

Kiko Fojimaro who was the daughter of a previous president who was disgraced as a corrupt

figure, now herself is on trial for money laundering.

I do remember in the most recent Peruvian vote, we haven't

had one since, won by Mr. Castillo who was in jail for trying to run the legislature out of town and become dictator is alleged,

although I don't remember a trial proving that.

Fudemoro, Kiko F Fujimaro was his opponent.

The race was so close there was a question of intervention

by the military.

Now many years later, President Bilarti, who was vice president

and ascended to the role with Castilla's jailing is supervising

the trial of Kiko Fujimaro while President Balarte is in China dealing with the ambitions of the Communist Party.

Enough confusion, Professor. Let's start with Kiko Fuji Morrow.

She is the daughter of a man who's condemned and this looks like she's being

condemned. In this country, sometimes we call these things law fair. Is there reason to be suspicious

about this trial because she would be a candidate again when and

if there's a presidential election.

Well John there are two I think great consistent forces here in Peru.

You know, number one is the depth of corruption that has long existed in

Peruvian institutions at it all levels and including its presidency.
