The word migration is a major political debate around the world.

It's not just in United States.

Certainly in Europe, it dominates the European Union.

What we have right now is a program that's underway much ballyhoot for weeks.

Six million dollars of the US has been devoted to flights from Panama to return refugees,

migrants, travelers, pilgrims, many euphemisms over the centuries, to wherever they came from, according

to the reporting, flying them out, $6 million.

The Reuters reports and the professor endorses this number is not exaggerated.

The Darien Gap saw one half million, half a million five hundred thousand people take the risk of that

jungle in 2023. 2024 is half over and in any, half a million people and they're starting flights now.

The new president of Panama has endorsed this.

He wants more, Molino. He wants to stop the traffic through the daring gap, which would be challenging.

It's a triple canopy jungle, as dangerous as it gets. There are reasons to believe that by cutting that off you

would not solve the problem. There are workarounds, but it certainly would slow

the pacing. So Professor, what is your measure of this program for six million

dollars to fly people back to where they can start walking again? Is this a

gesture towards Panama? Is this a gesture towards Panama?

Is this a gesture towards the election in the US?

Is this a program that's meant to solve something?

Or, well, there are many metaphors, but the one that comes to mind is a

bandaid over a wound. I agree John this is a bandaid that's a drop in the bucket

...
