Argentina, the surprise and promise of 2023 here in 2024,

I read from Reuters reporting in these last days.

Argentine President Javier Malay has sent a reform bill to Congress proposing far-reaching changes

to the country's tax system, electoral law, public debt management.

Reuters adds, the push to reshape South America's second largest economy with an omnibus

bill requires approval from lawmakers in both

chambers where Malay's coalition holds a small minority of seats.

Professor, we can celebrate Malay because apparently he means what he says.

Although his presentation can be so exciting, you don't listen to him.

He's just distractingly colorful.

He is a television personality. He is very good at holding the camera. A reform bill, is that a surprise to Congress that he means to do this carefully and with the weight of law.

Well, Malay certainly seems to be a man of his word.

And I think one of the promising things that I've seen is he's coming in is first of all recognizing

that it is not just Malay and his party, the Libertadavansa, but also now of course this

very important if fragile coalition with the center right,
