United States and northern border of Mexico.

The crisis is the word used by the Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Barsena, Reuters reporting.

There has been a crisis, in quotes, at the U.S.-Mexican border, according to the Foreign

Minister, speaking with senior officials from both countries.

Many more migrants have reached the border, those reported in Reuters, in recent weeks prompting

alarm from some U.S. leaders in line to increase security checks at the frontier that have caused

trade delays.

Barsena said Mexican officials were looking to carry out, quote, assisted returns, as a

quote, of migrants to Ecuador, Venezuela, and Colombia, in addition to the deportations

now underway to Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador, the northern triangle.

Joseph, I begin with you because this is a crisis for Central America and for South America.

At this point, Mexico is speaking up.

Do they have the willpower, the authority, the apparatus?
