Mexico. A major, major success for for Claudia Shinebaum, former mayor of Mexico City, now president-elect of Mexico.

Professor, the headline from Reuters, Mexico Shinebaum backs Lopez-oprador's judicial reform.

She says, quote, nothing to worry about.

What is the judicial reform? As I recall, this first came up as a controversy at the

midterm for Lopez-Obrador when he wanted to, in some fashion, win enough seats in the legislature so that he could make changes

with judges. What judges? What changes? What does Lopez-Obridor still want to

achieve? Good evening to you. Good evening to you, John. This is a really

important detail of what's happened with the Mexican elections that during his own term, Amlo,

Andres Manuel Lopez-Obrador,

had a lot of things that he wanted to do,

but was blocked by the judiciary and by others.

He had a series of reforms that he wanted to push through,

but because during his term,

Morena, his party, did not have the two-thirds majority that it needed to push through

constitutional reforms, he was limited.

However, in the most recent elections on June 2, not only was his candidate Claudia Shinebaum elected, but Morena won basically

more than two-thirds in the lower house and just two-thirds, especially with the help of some allied-friendly parties in the Senate.

So by having two-thirds effectively in both houses, as well as three-fourths of Mexico's

governors, they now will have the group of people that they

need if the party stays together to push through really any constitutional changes that

they want.
