This is CBS, I on the World. I'm John Batchel. The New World Report. Professor Evan Ellis of the U.S. Army

War College, Strategic Studies Institute, the second largest country in the Americas, the primary,

the superstar of South America, Brazil.

And there is a record that is non-transparent right now of Lula de Silva's intentionality.

You will recall he was twice president elected in the early part of this century.

And then was denounced and jailed for participating in a

massive corruption program, later released by a man named Demerice, who is now on the Supreme

Court in Mexico, and is very active in political matters.

Lula de Silva's posture when he came out and ran for president was one of a reformer.

Since then, I've been confused by Lula de Silva because now and again,

he stands toe to toe and shoulder to shoulder with rogue states such as Maduroz Venezuela,

or iconoclastic and notably rhetorical states such as Colombia.

And then again, he's backed off from some of those relationships recently.

And it is a puzzle.

He also is the B in Bricks. and that's where I come now because there's

been news on the President-elect in Bricks in these last days. I note Brazil's economy

estimated to a slod in third quarter reports Reuters. That's significant in that. Evan Ellis is at the U.S. Army War College,

and therefore he's going to help me to understand

if this is a national security threat

or a financial market concern.

The President-elect Evan has talked about imposing a 100% terror

for something punitive on the bricks if and when they de-dollarize,
