Ernesto, a date that is not to celebrate, but certainly is a political moment.

The headline in Reuters, Brazil to mark anniversary of January 8th attack on democracy, that is

within these hours.

Brazil will hold ceremonies in the capital, writes Reuters, celebrating its democratic system one year

after a right-wing mob, rights Reuters, invaded and vandalized Brazil's Congress. About 500 guests are invited to the event in Brazil's Congress where Louise,

Lula de Silva, President Lula de Silva, and congressional leaders are expected to speak.

The quote here from Lula,

we must never forget January 8th, 2023,

the day that some irresponsible people attempted a coup

in this country, but the three powers stood out and democracy won, long-lived democracy.

Ernesto, my memory is that the Congress was not in session, the building was empty and that this right-wing mob or

colorful t-shirts and was in a festive mood in some fashion am I remembering

correctly good evening again.

Good evening, John. So, yeah, no, this is the narrative that the establishment in

Brazil has propagated in Brazil and around the world right-min mob trying to destroy democracy.

So it's interesting this celebration that Lula is putting together. This is a politician this is the people. No one is celebrating. Yesterday they tried to have some sort of popular

event to celebrate and no one showed up. So it's clearly not the popular perception in Brazil that there was a coup attempt and

Lula and the heroic judges from the Supreme Court defended democracy, not at all.
