Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia.

Three and the Inchane nations all troubled by challenges to governance.

In Ecuador, President Lasso is challenged by his legislature with corruption charges.

In Peru and Lima, President Bolarty is challenged by the legislature in terms of ineffectiveness

or not seen as a visionary and the troubles that have been there since the arrest and jailing

of President Castillo, previous President Castillo.

And in Bolivia, too much trouble to summarize other than the fact that President Arce is

not unsympathetic to other elements associated with Eva Morales.

At the same time, he's arrested a major opponent and jailed a major opponent from a rich

region of Bolivia.

So Professor, I have three nations all troubled in some fashion.

The one that seems a primary to focus on just a moment is Ecuador.

The trouble there is President Lasso is not on center left.

Is he an outlier who is being removed by the flow of center left politics to his own

legislature or this corruption charge?

Is so routine throughout Latin America, I never know how to wait it?

And although you have differences in terms of who's on top right now between left and

right, I think as you pointed out, one of the common elements is that you have severe social

economic stresses which have led to political polarization and discontent among populations

who are partly representing indigenous groups, partly representing other marginalized
