Ernesto, the Royal Disreport, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, asked Guatemala

to provide more protection for President-elect Bernardo Aravalo and his Vice President Karine

Herrera.

In a statement, the Commission said threats, the threats they know about include two plots

against the politicians' lives.

In response, the government said it is already in reinforced security.

The reason I mentioned is that after the assassination in Ecuador, there's seen another

assassination of a mayor in Ecuador.

There seems to be violence in the wind.

This is something you experienced in the campaign for Mr. Bolsonaro in his initial election.

Is this something that you dealt with at the Foreign Ministry the risk of assassination

after elections, or is this unusual at this time because of the violence everywhere in

the world?

Well, John, definitely I think politics also in Brazil became more violent through

recently as in the rest of the region.

It's so sad to see because we thought a few years ago that we were on the right track

that we were on the track of building democracy, stability, economic growth, prosperity with

market economies with economic freedom and political freedom.

And clearly, there are strong forces that don't want that.

And those forces, they are using among other instruments, political assassinations.

So it's not here or there.
