The warning here for me always is this is information from a communist regime that is linked with adversaries, Moscow, Beijing, Tehran,

Managua, Karakas, and therefore always consider the fog of diplomacy.

Who does it serve for Havana to put out the news that it's not famine,

but certainly reduction in prosperity again.

The news.

Cuba's communist-run government slashed by a quarter

the weight of its subsidized ration of daily bread, the latest shortage to strain a decades old

subsidy scheme created by Castro. The bread, one of a handful of still

subsidized basic food products in Cuba, will be reduced from 80 grams to 60 grams

approximately the weight of an average cookie.
