We go immediately to the border between Texas and Mexico, Arizona and California.

The news from Reuters, migrants at U.S. Mexico border face tight controls after Title 42

laps.

The story, after hours of waiting on the U.S. side, this is within these last hours.

And hoping that Texas National Guard would let them seek U.S. asylum, a group of 15 migrants

crossed a shallow green river back to Mexico.

Their face is drawn in disappointment.

After traveling from countries including the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, they were

among the first people attempting to enter the U.S. for Mexico after the end of COVID-19

restrictions that had blocked many migrants from requesting asylum at the border for the

last three years.

Gentlemen, a very welcome to this complicated story of a vast border, some of it with

fences, some of it with media attention, some of it with traditional ways to going back

and forth between Mexico and the United States.

And this reporting about the word surge, the word waning of the surge, the word tougher

restrictions now holding people off from trying to get into the United States.

And then the reports in cities such as El Paso that it is done very little to stem the

flow across all the border crossings that are not under camera's eyes or not being
