Brazil police foiled bomb plot targeting packed Lady Gaga concert in Rio.

Brazilian police said on Sunday, within hours, that they had thwarted a bomb attack plan

for Lady Gaga's historic concert that drew over 2 million people to Copacabana Beach and

Rio de Janeiro.

The civil police of Rio de Janeiro state, working in coordination with the justice

ministry, said the plot was

orchestrated by a group promoting hate speech and the radicalization of teenagers, including

self-harm and violent content as a form of social belonging. Ernesto, wow, Lady Gaga,

two million people. Is this something you ever heard of before? It seems bizarre.

After all, the politics is going on in Brazil. This is anarchy. Good evening to you.

Good evening, John. Yeah, what a story, right? So, yeah, the city of Rio, the mayor of Rio has been

investing in those mega, mega shows.

So last year, Madonna was there in Brazil for a 1.5 million people show, I think,

and now we had Lady Gaga out doing Madonna with 2 million people.

So, yeah, this has to do, of course, everything has to do with politics nowadays in Brazil.

The mayor of Rio is on the lie of Lula.

So this is something that helps distract people from economic hardship, from inflation, unemployment, and all that.

In a pre-electoral context, you have elections in fall next year.
