Argentina, Buenos Aires, within hours, Argentina's Senate passed a sprawling bill that is key to Libertarian President

Havier Malay's economic reform plans.

Protesters set fires and clashed with police in the streets outside Congress.

Professor, I'm looking at Reuters giving me a video feed from the inside, so I'm trying to imagine what setting fires and protests outside looks like.

Where the legislature is in Buenos Aires, is it surrounded by large open spaces?

Is there a Fifth Avenue or Pennsylvania Avenue pouring by?

What would these demos look like outside?

And does it threaten the people inside?

Well, you make an important observation, John, that the closer one gets to the

key moment, the hotter that the fire gets. And so the key thing that's driving

these protests in which you had flipping and

burning of cars near the Argentine Congress is this omnibus bill which would

possibly give Malay executive, additional executive powers the power to privatize some key Argentine

companies like Errolinius, Argentina, among others.

It basically passed the lower house in April after a previous failure in February.

It then went to the Senate.

It was just reported out of the three Senate committees and so basically it's on its final leg now.

It only needs 37 out of 72 votes in the Senate.

It's probably going to come right down the wire.

But the Perrinists who have mobilized their people on the street

to bring pressure as a reminder of that, this critical moment for President
