The Good News of Argentina.

It requires attention to the financial markets

and also to the momentum build up since the election of Javier Malay

for a country that has long been recognized as having the gifts and the resources that only God could

grant you and yet becoming beyond a basket case a perpetual deadbeat in Latin America and the world,

unable to pay its bills and counting on the fact that it was a government that,

well, influence peddling is the polite way of putting it.

In any event, it was a government dominated by factions.

That is no longer the case, but the poverty is severe

because the government handouts have been restricted or eliminated.

We come now to how the outside the world is looking at Argentina long considered to be a trap if you're a foreign investor.

For example, Argentine bonds have risen over these last days cheering, Malay and Trump prospect. Now that Mr. Trump is elected,

the presumption by the bond market, which is independent of reality as far as I can tell,

the bond market has its own rules. They're called the bond vigilantes. Our Argentina's dollar

bonds jumped in early trade. This is the morning after the election,

and the country's risk index dropped sharply with investors cheering the prospect of closer ties

between libertarian Malay and newly re-elected U.S. ally Donald Trump.

Professor, is this Reuters utopian thinking,

or is there a reason to believe that Malay and Trump have business to do?
