We're in search of good news.

We don't have a high bar, so we'll go with Argentina.

It's an odd story.

Protests, including banging of drums and pots in Buenos Aires, in support of the former

president, two-term 2007 to 2015.

Kirchner, Christina Fernandez de Kirchner, is barred from running for office again and is to begin a six-year

sentence house arrest for corruption. She was confirmed guilty by a court, and yet the protesters

turned out in Buenos Aires. So I understand, Professor, this is a, what you say, artificially good news, but the Kirchner's

have been set aside for a moment giving Malay some maneuvering room.

Is that correct?

Is that the way to see this?

The protests do not mean that there's a movement to return Kirchner of power.

Well, John, that's a good and ironic observation.

Perhaps only in Argentina's surreal politics is the sentencing to, you know,

house arrest and political inabilitation of a former president good news.

But in many ways, this puts at least a temporary end to a long process.

Christina Fernanza Kirchner was president of Argentina from 2007 to 2015.

She was later a vice president, but under Alberto Fernandez, but continued, no relation,

but continued to have a lot of influence within the Peronist movement.
