Hey, this is a big old mess. Let's try and make sense of this big old mess, right? So there's

a lot to unpack coming out of this week's episode of Smackdown. Phil covered covered it a little bit. On the Saturday news yesterday, the immediate reaction to this Pat McAfee reveal as the guy who was phoning Randy Orton. But a bunch of new reports have come out since then. And frankly, if I was to sit here and open with anything else, it would make zero sense. So let's begin with a Body Slam Plus report on Cody Rhodes' response to the Pat McAfee reveal.

If you recall, if you go back to Smackdown,

Cody cut this fierce in-ring promo

where he invoked disco inferno

and basically buried the whole thing.

So this is quite interesting

because according to Body Slam,

members of WW Creative actually told Cody to go out there and shoot from the hip regarding Pat McAfee and TKO. TKO, of course, is WWE's ownership group.

Apparently the promo was not listed internally on the rundown because it wasn't going to take place until they went onto social media, saw the reaction and went, oh, we need to do something, it seems.

So, yeah, they just said, hey, Cody, go out and shoot on the bosses.

Okay.

Now, apparently, there are some members of WWB's team, including Cody and some people on the creative team, who do have gripes with TKO for sticking their nose into WW's storyline so close to WrestleMania, not just this year, but several years in a row. So we knew coming out of this, there was a report very quickly that the move to have Pat Mac if he revealed as the secret Randy Orton guy was made by TKO and Ari Emanuel.

This was not Triple H's idea. This went over his head, right? His bosses made the call and he eventually signed off on it and it happened on the show.

So that is one kind of interesting aspect, the idea of somebody going over Triple H's head,

although if you look really at the hierarchy of WW, Triple H doesn't run WW.
