Derek, let's start with these Iran-US talks.

Finally, the long-awaited, I guess, U.S. and Iranian negotiations began on Friday in Oman.

This was the first round of theoretically several rounds of

talks to come. They don't, as you would expect from a first round, they don't appear to have

accomplished anything substantive other than to agree to continue the process.

The participants all said the right things afterwards, how productive it had been, and good discussions.

The US team was led by, of course,

the ubiquitous envoys, Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner,

and the Iranian team was led by Foreign Minister Abbas Arachi.

These were indirect talks. They were

facilitated by the Almani foreign ministry, which shuttled in between, had mediators shuttling in
