and comrade Derek Davison and we are excited to bring you the news. But before we do, Derek,

I just want to take a big breath, big sigh of relief. Finally, there is some good news. I actually

think Zarin Mamdani's victory is pretty important and pretty interesting for a couple of reasons. just want to go into that and maybe get your reaction before we get into the news um one obviously it's finally nice to have good news after a while i was looking at my bernie 2016 poster the other day and my my what a long hard road it's been it's been a long road, yeah. Jesus Christ, like it just seemed like bad news after bad news.

And Trump has been so awful in the second administration, just as an intensification of all the worst trends in American history.

It's been a pretty depressing moment.

It's nice to, you know, my old hometown, even though my actual old hometown is like the only part of New York City that voted

like definitely against Maldani and really went for Cuomo, Rockaway parts of Rockaway

Queens.

But it's nice to have that big victory.

I really hope he is able to not only get what he has said done, but sort of serve as an

organizing force and organizing

principle. I think really all eyes are going to be on him. And I even in the realm of foreign

policy, obviously that's not a major thing for a mayor. And I think he was very wise during the

campaign to not focus on Israel. But I think that he can maybe do some interesting things. New York City,

of course, famously a global city, really the center of international finance. And we have a global
