We are inundated with information.

We are overwhelmed by overstatements, submerged by sensationalism, buried by bad news.

And so we are left wondering where to go and what to believe and who to trust.

Thinking about this in the long view of history, this is a very, very new experience.

For our grandparents, news was scarce.

Information was tightly controlled, really restricted.

In just a short period of time, the sources available to kings and presidents are now available

to all of us anytime, anywhere in the palms of our hands.
