um you know I really should prepare some remarks for this opening segment of this show but uh yeah

what the hell um I do know one thing and my talkers you're not going to like this

your cat is straight up evil we're gonna talk we're gonna talk about kitty cats uh and I've

owned many over the years I'm catless right now although uh random barn cats show up from time

to time and then we've got a star wars story but uh what's coming later in the show is what's a

really exciting um to me I hope it's exciting to everybody else but don't do this uh do this

dumb cat story okay I read it and uh I think it confirms what I've thought for many many years

okay so new research suggests that your cat is likely using sounds to keep track of you

wherever you are even if you're not in sight so they create mental maps that track where their

owner is located based on the direction of certain sounds this was an ability that people didn't

know about before this study but we all knew it right yeah yeah it's really interesting because

what they did is they would play like a voice of their owner in one room and you know the cat

would just probably keep their eyes closed but their ears were moving around and then they would play

it from another room like and then they would kind of be confused right so they were shocked

they shocked the cats because they were confused they heard fluffy over here and then fluffy in the

other room so um they knew and then they went further with it they can hold a mental representation

of the unseen owner and um I think we all knew that because you will call a cat
