New York Mets lose the series to the Philadelphia Phillies.

They do win a game, so I guess we should celebrate that.

Instead of it being a nine-game losing streak, it's eight losses in nine games,

one game out of first place, three and a half games up on a playoff spot,

and just a real kind of ass whooping to end this series.

I sat there throughout this losing streak.

I think we all did and thought, hey, once they get a victory, once they just get one,

once they snap the losing streak, more will come.

Well, right away, that is not the case because after they explode on Saturday with the 11

runs, with the seven home runs, they come out on Sunday night baseball against the Philadelphia Phillies,

battling for first place, and they stunk it up.

You know, I'm not even going to start with David Peterson because the reality with

David Peterson was he was due for one of these outings, for a stinker.

And it was a stinker that really came out of nowhere because over the first three

innings of this game, he was locked in.

Even when he put the first two guys on base in the third inning, it was really bad luck,

especially the infield hit he gave up to Edmondo Sosa and then Buddy Kennedy put

together that good

app out where Peterson lost him and then Peterson was able to get through it. He picked off Sosa.
