The language of resolve is not foreign to Holy Scripture, the Apostle Paul.

I resolved to know nothing but Christ and Him crucified.

Jesus himself, his entire ministry, is typified by his resolve to get to his cross and carry out his saving work.

So sometimes Christians are all about New Year's resolutions,

and sometimes Christians they poo-poo.
