Good morning, everyone. I'm Kate Baldwin. It's Wednesday, April 15th. Here are the five things you need to know to start your day.

Number one, the new accuser. A fifth woman is now coming forward against now former Congressman Eric Swalwell,

accusing him, rather, of sexual misconduct and prompting a new investigation.

This time by the Los Angeles County Sheriff.

At a news conference, Lana Drews alleged that Swalwell raped her at a hotel in 2018.

She says they had been meeting socially, but on that night, she believes her drink was drugged

before he invited her to his room.

After first reports surfaced Friday, Swalwell dropped out of the California governor's race over the weekend, then resigned his congressional seat shortly after, and has said he is prepared to fight the claims.

His attorney said in a statement this, Swalwell categorically and unequivocally denies each and every allegation of sexual misconduct and assault that have been leveled against him.

Number two, the storm system. Much of the central United States is cleaning up this morning from what was a brutal round of severe weather.

It brought tornadoes, hail, and flooding. The threat from the system is not over. Forecasters say parts of Texas,

a threat of wind damage. Drone footage captured the damage left behind after confirmed tornadoes

hit Wisconsin. Here's a pastor of one Catholic church that was in the storm's path.
