In this episode, number 225, I am chatting with Janay Wilburn answering your new mom questions.

You can be 100% grateful for this child that God has given you and still be sad about

the life you no longer live.

And I think what we do instead is we either think we're supposed to be blissfully happy

as moms and never show anything else and if they don't appear that way, they think they're

somehow failing.

And I don't think that's true at all.

I have had experience just some of the greatest joys ever with motherhood.

I have also had days for my husband at home and I have the crazy face and I'm like, I'm

out.

But you have to recognize as a mom that what you're doing with your kids is super valuable,

but it's okay to miss what you used to do.

And I think when you acknowledge that, it helps you value what you're doing now more.

It doesn't feel awesome to have someone give you a permission slip like it's okay to

feel the grief and the joy intermingled.

Well, that's what this new mom life is, right?

It's a constant going back and forth between multiple emotions and the revealing of things

in our heart.

Well, Janay is super honest and real and has a couple young kids.
