Welcome along to the Gary Neville podcast. Gary and I have just watched another thrilling North London Derby. Gary, you said before the match this is now your favourite fixture. Didn't disappoint, did it? No, it never does. And yeah, I didn't think it would disappoint today. I was surprised that Arsenal went so far in front, so early in the game, half an hour or so in, but at the end it was breathtaking and I think even I was getting carried away.

Is it a demonstration of how much Arsenal have matured the fact that they managed to hold on to a victory that they may not necessarily have done a year ago?

Yeah, I always think when sort of almost like a near miss that, wasn't it?

And there's definitely some scar tissue from last season for some of those players.

And I think if that third goal would have gone in for Spurs somehow at the end,

that would have been difficult to come back from.

In fact, I'm not sure they would have come back from it. But the fact that they actually have got through, the fact that would have been difficult to come back from in fact I'm not sure they would have come back from it but the fact that they actually have got

through the fact that they've come out of this game with a win look at this

stage of the season doesn't matter how you get there you've got to get there

you've got to make sure that Manchester City go into that game at Nottingham

Forest we don't know what that score is going to be yet, but you have to make sure they have to win.

And Arsenal have done that job.

Do you feel some sympathy for Spurs with the way they played

and the way they did fight back in the second half?

Yeah, I mean, I don't think, I said part away through the game

that from box to box, Spurs do a lot of very good things.

They're excellent excellent in fact and they

were really spirited in the second half so well done to them for that because you know they were

down and out at the playing against a good team but I think in the first half just they got messed

around on those corners you know I think when vicario looks back at those sort of corners and he

sees Ben White sort of nudging him around,

never get nudged around off a player that stood there to annoy you, get a grip of that straight

...
