Well, welcome everyone to the first part of a two-part Gary Neville podcast weekend, which begins on the final whistle here at the Etihad Stadium.

City won Liverpool One, the big two Gary. What are your takeaway feelings?

The game was a little less exciting than I thought it may be or hoped it would be.

I'm not going to sort of pile into the players for that because I think coming back off that sort of

international sort of triple header of September, October, November, I've been there and particularly you mentioned it during commentary commentary players from South America traveling back and there are quite a few of

them out there on the pitch and Allison at the end actually looks like he may have

suffered a hamstring injury which would be a big blow for Liverpool so yeah I

just thought that the 1230 kickoff is the first we've done of these for a bit and I

felt it suffered a little bit the grass felt I don't know why the grass felt a little bit long and the ball wasn't travelling as smoothly.

I sound like a right winger here, I don't know like I'm making excuses for everybody, but it just felt a little bit like that.

And the atmosphere in the ground was a little bit flat. some unbelievable atmospheres in these games over the last five, six years where

City Liverpool have played some absolute stonkers.

So yeah, this was a little bit less than I hope for today, but look, we've got to accept that
