All right. Here we are. This is Jay Brown Yoga Talks podcast. My name is Jay Brown. If anyone listening is here for the first time today, let me welcome you.

Everyone else, what's up? Did you have a good holiday? That is, if you celebrated the holiday.

Did you go see your family? Either way, I hope that you manage to keep any old patterns at bay.

It seems that around holiday times, some of those old patterns that maybe we've managed to change,

maybe we've managed to find new patterns that better express who we want to be as people

in the world.

But those old patterns, they're always just right there underneath, aren't they?

In certain times, like holiday times, it's real easy to fall back into them, isn't it?

Ironically enough, I find myself in this moment, in an old familiar pattern that I've worked hard not to find myself in. It's really late at night. It's like two hours

before this is supposed to publish. And long time listeners know, I've talked about this many

times. It used to happen all the time that I was like up against the wire and just like barely getting the podcast out on time.

But I've managed to keep that as a very rare occurrence.

These days, I usually have a really good ritual and pattern that I keep with so I don't find myself in this situation.

But my wife's been away for the last four days and I was flying solo parenting over the

holiday, which was lovely, had some really wonderful memory making with my daughters,

baked all kinds of stuff, and, you know, it was good, but it was a lot.

And I just haven't had any of the time that I normally would have to do things. And here we are.

It's late at night making the podcast happen somehow, some way.

And, you know, it's bearing relevance to the topic of today's conversation.
