What a joy it was to preach this series of messages at Faith Baptist Church on the book of

Nehemiah.

I've entitled this series When God Interrupts Your Life, and I hope it's a great encouragement

to you and helps you to be a better servant of Jesus.

Nehemiah was willing to be interrupted in his life.

He had a great job.

We've called it a cushy and a cozy job.

He loved the Lord.

He served God.

He honored the Lord. He wasn't doing wrong. But Nehemiah one day was confronted with information that changed his life.

Initially, information that caused him to have a great burden. information that caused him to pray and fast, not just a flash of emotion, but a period of time in which God nurtured and fertilized a burden in Nehemiah's heart.

I'm not sure if Nehemiah realized that when God inserted that burden in his heart,

that he would be the one one day that would act upon it, but that's exactly what happened.

That's what happens in many of our lives. God burdens us about something, and that burden causes

us to pray, lament, and then maybe eventually that burden is something that God taps you on the shoulder again

and says, I want you to do something about this.

That's what happened to Nehemiah.

He was willing to allow God to interrupt his life.

I guess my question to you this morning would be,

are you willing to allow God to interrupt your life?
