The Game of the Night, the Dallas Mavericks win and send Golden State in conjunction with their win over New Orleans, which was harder than some expected, to the quarter

finals first team to soak clinch, but also gave themselves a very good chance as well at making

it into the quarterfinals as the wildcard team. They did it without Luca Donchich, took a 24-point lead,

and Denver roared back, but could not close in the end. What did you have for some of your main

takeaways on this one? I want to start briefly with the stakes because both of these teams came in

knowing that if they lost, they were done in the NBA Cup.

And the pathway to advancing was cleaner for Denver than Dallas because with a win,

they controlled their own destiny.

Denver hosts the Warriors and both of their last game of Cup play.

So if they had won that, whatever the Warriors did, they still would have had control.

I'm kind of sad that we didn't actually get to see that match.

So am I.

I mean, it'll still happen.

I think Denver's still going to be trying.

Yeah.

Yeah.

And Golden State will be too.

I mean, number one, it's a regular season game, which is the brilliance of this. trying to get a home game in the quarterfinals. Exactly. And so I think that it gave this game a little bit of extra weight.

As you mentioned, Dallas Kimson, knowing that Lukadansk isn't going to play, he's going

to miss at least a week with a sprained wrist.

That is unfortunate, of course.
