In this podcast, we’re going to talk about natural desiccated thyroid, and why some people feel worse when they take it.

We’re going to be talking about:

 • Armour

 • Nature Throid

 • NP Thyroid

These all contain pig thyroid extracts. Why would someone feel worse with something more natural versus something synthetic? It could be because Armour, Nature Throid, and NP Thyroid have additional ingredients that you’re reacting to like dextrose or cornstarch.

If you have extreme fatigue or flu-like symptoms, you may have Hashimoto’s. The majority of people who have hypothyroidism have Hashimoto’s. It’s almost as if you’re allergic to your own thyroid gland.

What I would do if I had this condition:

 • Switch to Synthroid (synthetic T4)

 • Take Thytrophin PMG (thyroid extract without the hormones)

With healthy keto and intermittent fasting, the need for thyroid hormones will go down, and it will help you drop inflammation. You may also want to take vitamin D.

These contain porcine or pig thyroid extracts.

1:02.0

So the question we want to look at is why would someone feel worse

1:05.1

with something more natural versus something more synthetic like scintroid?

1:09.3

Now it could be

1:13.0

ingredients that you are reacting to because they do add things like

1:17.5

dextros, cornstarch, cellulose to these products and you could be reacting to those.

1:24.0

However, if your reaction is extreme fatigue or the flu-like symptoms, chances are the reason for that is that you have Hashimoto's,

1:39.4

which is an autoimmune condition and the great majority of people that have hypotheritism have

1:46.0

Hashimoto's. And what's happening is you have the thyroid gland and you have antibodies

1:51.4

that are attacking itself.

1:53.0

So it's almost as if you have a allergy to your own thyroid gland

1:58.0

and these antibodies are just keeping the thyroid inflamed and that is causing the thyroid to be depressed.

2:05.0

All right, so the question is what can you do about the situation?

2:10.0

Personally, if I had the problem, I would switch to Synthroid, which is a synthetic T4, because that would reduce

2:16.8

the reaction, number one, and I would search out a product called Thyrotrophin PMG.

2:24.1

This is thyroid extract without the hormones.

2:28.9

And what I would do is I would take one of these tablets before bed, okay, because it might make you a little bit
