looking at Ukraine conflict here as we approach winter in Ukraine and a necessary slowdown of frontline activity but

there's much to speak of when it comes to Europe because of NATO and NATO's

anxiety about remarks made by Vladimir Putin

over these years of conflict in Ukraine.

Anatole a very good evening to you. What is steadfast noon and how does it answer the war in Ukraine if it does

good evening to you. Hello John well I mean frankly steadfast noon is not

anything to get particularly excited about.

NATO has, since time a memorial, had an annual drill of responding to a potential nuclear attack.

I mean it went down and became largely symbolic for many years after the end of the Cold War, but it never went away.

Because of course that's what a military defensive alliance has to do. Of course you have to prepare for a nuclear attack.

And obviously, given the tensions with Russia over Ukraine and the Ukraine war you you have to do that but

it's not either you, it won't have any particular effect on the Russians because the calculations about nuclear war have always been there.
