Because each year I get a little bit more crazy. I have an obsession with Christmas lights and not just in my home

Outside my home, you know on trees on furniture. I just love lights and I love pine cones and they're smell

And anything that reminds me of Christmas

So I annoy my family because I will sometimes put things up really early and I'm just wondering if it's five mid-November if that

Too early or if maybe I get a pass just because it's sparkly and maybe it's a reflection of one side of my personality

So we've actually been talking about this a lot around these parts and I've decided whatever brings you joy

Is the way to go because it was snowing on Halloween here like inches of snow sitting on the ground freezing cold

Needed heading gloves on October 31st

And when it gets cold like that

I say all bets are off whatever you got to do to get you through what is basically five months of winter in places like Chicago

Just go ahead and do it and I get that some people want to honor Thanksgiving quote-unquote and not skip ahead

But how exactly do you decorate for Thanksgiving in a way that brings joy to the house for the entire month that you have to kill between Halloween and Christmas

You get a throw pillow that says thankful on it

Maybe some gourds on your dining room table

Maybe a couple turkey drawings made out of a hand that you kiddos did at school

That's it the bottom line is you might not be right

But it's a lot tougher to commodify Thanksgiving

So stores just skip right ahead to Christmas

And they've got all the bright lights and the beautiful displays taunting you every day as you return to your dark home and your one
