Russia called for a U.N. Security Council meeting over “biological activities” in Ukraine. During the meeting, Russia’s U.N. representative Vasily Nebenzya claimed Russia had discovered “truly shocking facts” regarding 30 Ukrainian laboratories working on diseases including anthrax, cholera and “the plague."  He claimed these labs did this research with funding and oversight by the U.S. military. During the hearing, Russia, China, India and Brazil all called for an investigation into the U.S.-funded biolabs in Ukraine. U.S. officials have denied these claims and suggest that Russia could be using these allegations as a pretext for its own biological attack in Ukraine.
