This is hell and the dissent we have been churning out since we began this show includes the very unpopular opinion that what is known as neoliberalism and putting profits before people is a

freaking nightmare. For those of you who may not know, neoliberalism is what they call

the public-private partnership, where that partnership is dominated by the private sector,

over the will of the people, allowing an unregulated economy to run roughshod over citizens and workers' rights, as well as any protections for the environment, you know, the world on which we live and depend upon for our very survival.

It all started back in the Carter administration, became entrenched under President's Reagan,

and the first Bush, was further and reinforced under Clinton when it attained near complete

bipartisan support and has become the dominant religion of both parties.

British Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher, went so far as insisting there is no alternative,

and many who were benefiting from the expanded exploitation of workers were claiming it was the end of history.

That way, the status quo could continue to thrive and inequality could increase,

lining the pockets of what would eventually be called the 1%.

We then covered the, we even covered the uprisings against neoliberalism, whether it was the Battle for Seattle in opposition to the World Trade Organization meeting in 1999, which locked out all labor, human and environmental

rights groups from any and all discussions, or any of the other protests at the turn of the

century. The global left reacted and resisted the WTO by responding with their own organization

to counter the WTO, and that was the World Social Forum in Porto Allegre, Brazil, which began in 2001 prior to 9-11.
