even for Phil and David it's not every day you have lunch with an Oscar winner like Alice and Janney

you studied with and got a huge break as a student from my favorite actor of all time. And I want to ask

from your professional opinion, I know he was a big influence on your life, but like to me,

if I had to say my favorite performance by an actor, it's the verdict, Paul Newman. I don't

know if there's anything I like more than that.

So I know he was a good guy in your life, but was Paul Newman as great as I think he was?

He was great to me, and I thought he was a spectacular human being.

And he was so generous with his time, with all of us, he came back to Kenyon College where I went to direct a play because he had graduated from Kenyon and his son died while he was there working with us

and he had to go and bury his son and then he came back.

He could have said, no, I'm not coming back to do the show. I have to be with my family,
