Good evening and welcome once again to brush up your Shakespeare where we make

Shakespeare fun and easy the way it was always meant to be. This is episode 14

and today we will be covering Hamlet Act 3, scene 3.

In the last scene, Hamlet has succeeded in provoking a reaction from Claudius

by having the roaming band of actors perform a play in which

has enacted the murder of Hamlet's father by his uncle Claudius.

Hamlet now knows that Claudius did indeed kill Hamlet's father, the king.

But Claudius must also suspect that Hamlet knows as well, else how did it fall out that the players performed

a play so exactly matching the circumstances of the

circumstances of the murder. Act 3, scene 3 opens with Claudius taking action to get Hamlet out of Denmark

and ordering Rosencrantz and Guildenstern to take Hamlet with them on a voyage to England.
