Lorna, welcome to the program. Hi Dr. Laura thank you for taking my call. I've been a listener

0:18.5

for over 20 years and I want to thank you for the wisdom you sprinkled into my life

0:24.2

and I've been able to implement a lot of your ideas so thank you so much.

I need some help. I have let me start. I've been married for 45 years. One marriage. We're still

0:38.5

married. We have two grown girls, four grandchildren and I have a mother who's 96.

Life has been difficult for her this these past six months and as a result where she was six months

0:53.2

ago the best optimum location for her to live was a boarding care facility where it was small,

1:00.9

very hands-on helping her with all her daily activities. She did have a fall there and she's

1:10.0

recovering from that. She fractured her kneecap. The one thing with the boarding care is that there

1:17.3

are a total of six residents and there's only one person that she really can talk to because the

1:23.4

others are not capable of doing so. She does have a friend who doesn't speak but they communicate

1:29.7

by touch and by it's really sweet and this woman will be moving with her family to either Alaska

1:37.8

or again. So the issue with the boarding care is that she's very well physically taken care of

1:45.9

but there's no mental stimulation. My brother and I try the best we can. We have a physical

1:52.8

therapist coming in on her on her dime or dime because she loves to exercise and that's she's been

2:00.8

she did yoga until she was 90 years old so she's pretty awesome. Yes. The thing is is that she's

2:09.4

she's missing the social companion that an assisted living can provide which I really like

2:16.8

but I worry about her because right now recovering from her fractured knee she's walking and

2:22.9

exercising on her own and she's not supposed to do that yet. So I have either. Can I interject

2:32.4

in here please. She's at the last part of her life she is going to die of something one of these days
