Summary

When Bryce Edwards was growing up on his family’s 642-acre farm, in Southern Illinois, his grandmother told him a story that made his jaw drop. She told him about the time when she saw what she called a Honey Bear come out of the woods, across the road from where she’d been sitting. She was sitting in her front yard, at the time, with Bryce’s father and his brother when the Honey Bear came out of the woods. When she saw it, she grabbed Bryce’s dad and his brother, ran inside with them, and hid in a closet until Bryce’s grandfather came home from work. That happened 60 years ago. Fast forward to present day and Bryce has had experiences with them of his own. We hope you’ll tune in and listen to him share his experiences.

0:14.1	Hi, this is Bryce Edwards, and I'm a local to Soto, Illinois, and I have four great kids, a wife, and I'm a blue-collar factory
0:23.8	worker. My story with Sasquatch is pretty wild. When I was a child, my grandmother told me a story
0:34.8	about her seeing a honey bear. I was 10 years old at this time,
0:40.4	and I didn't know what she was talking about as far as a honey bear. I just assumed she was talking
0:44.9	about like a brown bear. But her story goes that whenever my father was four years old and my
0:51.8	uncle was a newborn, they were sitting outside in the front yard.
0:56.3	And across the road, coming out of the woods in the field there was what she called a honey bear.
1:03.1	It was on all fours and then it stood up and started walking on two legs.
1:08.5	And this scared her really bad to where she grabbed my dad and grabbed my
1:13.1	uncle, went inside the house, locked all the doors, and hid in the closet until my grandpa came
1:18.7	home. Now, I always, like I said, I always just assumed that this was a story about a bear.
1:25.7	So whenever I was listening to a podcast about Bigfoot,
1:31.0	there was a gentleman on there who was talking about his encounters,
1:34.1	and he referred to him as honey bears.
1:37.0	And that was when the light bulb went off.
1:39.6	So I was like, wow, Grandma saw a Bigfoot.
1:43.2	And so that tells me that this was probably 1962, 1963, whenever she had that
1:50.0	sighting.
1:50.7	So that tells me that this has been going on on our farm for at least 60 years.
