After getting barely three hours of sleep, I somehow managed to get to the Parsequite

Public Library at 9am on the dot.

I scanned the room and couldn't see Emmy anywhere, just a small crowd of people hosting

with like a book club.

They whipped around and saw a sight that was so bizarre, it took my brain a second to

catch up to my eyes.

Emmy and the elderly woman from last night were sitting on the children's book section,

sitting on plastic stools with a small blue and yellow table in between them.

They both had a mug of tea in front of them.

The old woman eagerly taking a sip from hers as she saw me approach.

Ah, man, you mean I missed out on sharing what I read this week?

I joked as I grabbed a small stool, sitting down at the table.

Emmy smacked me on the arm.

Psst, okay, okay, I reluctantly lowered my voice.

Ah, young love, the woman said, smirking behind her cup of tea.

I remember when I used to chase boys around at your age.

Emmy let out a sound that was somewhere between a nervous cough and an anxious laugh and

inadvertently causing the tea in her throat to surge back into her mouth.

The result rendered her unable to speak due to a coughing fit and left it for me to clarify

that we weren't actually together.
