0:52.0	It's a week during a worldwide pandemic. It is a week where we are trying to figure out how to

1:07.3	really well too. I kind of sort of debated putting this podcast together because number one,
1:13.8	it feels very personal. And number two, it wasn't as clean as I like podcasts to be. So let me explain
1:22.6	what I mean by clean. When it comes to storytelling, there's always a beginning, a middle, and an end.
1:31.4	In fact, like the best podcast and the best stories follow a very formulaic kind of arc.
1:39.6	The arc starts with the protagonist, aka the hero, aka the person who's talking. And what I like to do
1:49.0	and what the arc usually follows is the person starts off with an idea or a thesis or a theory.
1:56.3	And a process of questions and experiences and conversations is a very different person
2:03.2	at the end of the story. And what makes podcasts work really well and conversations and stories
2:09.2	work really well is understanding the transformation of that person. This also is clearly articulated
2:17.5	in blockbuster movies like Star Wars and like the Gladiator, right? Somebody at the beginning
2:23.2	goes through lots of ups and downs and then ends up a different person albeit better at the end.
2:29.9	Well, this podcast doesn't follow that arc whatsoever. In fact, I kind of struggled with really
2:36.8	sharing a lot of the aspects of what was going on because I wondered what anybody care.
