Summary

As winter surrenders to spring and the number of those vaccinated soar, our office has been receiving far more requests for both live and virtual presentations including several as their commencement speaker.

With less than ten minutes to speak with graduates who are turning the page on an important chapter of their lives, stepping into a post-pandemic world, and likely dealing with significant anxiety around what their life will be like next... what do I say?

Today, I share the one sentence that reminds all of us, including today's graduates, where to find real success, recognizing what really matters, and embracing the awesome gift that this life is.

I record these so that you and I can begin our days and our weeks in awe and on fire with a burst of inspiration. As the season of winter

0:26.1

surrenders to spring and as the number of those vaccinated sores pass more than 100 million

Americans, our office has been receiving far more requests for both live and virtual presentations.

This is phenomenal news, not only for our organization, but for all those still reeling from forced shutdowns.

significant anxiety around what their life will look like

1:12.9

next. These young people are dealing with their own personal struggles. They're managing their

1:17.8

apprehension. They're imagining what still is possible and they're launching into the unknown.

1:24.3

And I've got 10 minutes to congratulate them on graduating, encourage them to remain bold,

1:31.0

and to challenge them to do worthy things in their lives. Ten minutes. My friends, I'm not sure

1:37.8

that I can tie my necktie in less than 10 minutes. But in those fleeting, precious minutes, what should I share with them?

1:48.0

What would you share with them?

1:50.1

Well, for me, I'd start by affirming that their life is an invaluable, priceless gift.

1:58.2

It's worthy of boldly, vibrantly living each and every day, finding gratitude for all

2:03.5

they have, staying open to all that remains possible, and remaining diligent in the pursuit of both

2:09.8

personal success and selfless significance. Then remind them that it will be easy to get discouraged

2:17.3

as they journey forward. We all do. In this light, I'd then remind them that it will be easy to get discouraged as they journey forward.

2:18.5

We all do.
