Hello from CNN, I'm Joe Beck, with the five things you need to know for Monday, February 24th.

There appears to be a rift opening between some of President Donald Trump's agency heads and Elon Musk.

It all follows an email Musk sent out Saturday, demanding that all federal employees reply

listing their weekly accomplishments, or risk being fired.

By yesterday evening, leaders at the Pentagon, FBI, State Department, Department of Homeland Security,

and Department of Energy had all told their staff not to respond to the email.

Others did initially tell employees to comply

and send five achievements, but then changed their minds, while some simply told workers to hold

off until today. The scramble to figure out Trump and Musk's exact intentions with the email

added another layer of uncertainty to an already rattled federal workforce.
