Battle lines for November are drawn pretty brightly these days, and we have only eight weeks to go until election night.

Democrats are obviously trying to fire up voters on one big issue, abortion. But the White House is dealing with some self-inflicted wounds today on the

issues of inflation and the economy, both of which are issues Republicans would love to be focusing

on, but the GOP is dealing with its own unforced error of its own here in Washington on abortion.

And we're going to get to both of those issues in a moment. But we're going to begin with what is

arguably overshadowing

all of these political developments. And trust me, there's a part of us that would love to look

at this inflation versus abortion and say, oh, look, it's sort of normal political battle lines

are drawn, except we're not in normal times. The rise of extremism in American politics is largely

being driven by the former president and

current leaders of the Republican Party who seem to be going along with the former president.
