There is perhaps no issue that better exemplifies the dysfunction in American politics than immigration and the border.

Democrats and Republicans know our border policy and immigration policy need a badly need of an overhaul.

But the political will to move forward, it's not there. And instead of solutions, politicians,

particularly those on the right, are turning to stunts, impacting real human beings.

Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis sent two planes of migrants to the island of Martha's

Vineyard yesterday, funded by taxpayer dollars in the state of Florida. It's part of an effort to, in the

words of his spokesperson, to quote, transport illegal immigrants to sanctuary destinations.

According to the Martha's Vineyard Gazette, these 50 migrants are mainly from Venezuela. They're being sheltered by local

aid groups. DeSantis commented himself on his action this afternoon.

We take what's happening at the southern border very seriously, unlike some and unlike the

President of the United States, who has refused to lift the finger to secure that border.

If you have folks that are inclined to think Florida's a good place, our message to them is we are

not a sanctuary state, and it's better to be able to go to a sanctuary jurisdiction.
