I'm Kristen Welker on another day of compelling testimony from the January 6th Committee.

The committee's fourth hearing on its findings has just wrapped up, focusing on the Trump

campaign's pressuring of state officials to overturn

the results of the 2020 presidential election. We heard testimony from Georgia election officials,

including Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensberger, about that pressure campaign.

But the star witness today was Arizona's Republican House Speaker, Rusty Bowers,

who delivered powerful testimony about how former President Trump and his allies repeatedly pressed him to overturn the state's results and to violate his oath of office.

You are asking me to do something that is counter to my oath when I swore to the Constitution to uphold it.

On more than one occasion throughout all this, that has been brought up.

And it is a tenet of my faith.

That the Constitution is divinely inspired of my most basic foundational beliefs.

And so for me to do that because somebody just asked me to is foreign to my very being.

I will not do it.

You had told President Trump you would not do anything illegal for him.

I did both times.

Emotional testimony there.

Bowers also testified that he repeatedly asked Trump's team for evidence to back up their claims of voter fraud, but they never

provided it.

At some point, did one of them make a comment that they didn't have evidence, but they had a lot of

theories?
