As much of the country is digging out from the winter storm and dealing with the travel chaos caused by the weather, there are escalating tensions of a different kind in several of the world's hotspots today, all of which will be top of the agenda for President Biden in the new year as the White House contends with the ongoing war in Ukraine and the deepening ties between Russia and China.
