Nearly two years after the attack on the Capitol,

and nearly 18 months after it began its investigation into that attack, the January 6th committee has released its final report.

845 pages, eight chapters published late last night.

It's an exhaustive accounting of what happened during one of the darkest chapters in American history,

which the report pins almost entirely on one man, former president Donald Trump.

Here's the committee's chairman, Benny Thompson.

January 6th had it not been for the encouragement of Donald Trump. It would have never occurred.

It would have been the normal transfer of power that we do every four years when there's a

presidential election.

We'll dive into the political fallout facing the former president from within his own party in a moment.
