This is a Meet the Press election results special, live with Chuck Todd from NBC News election headquarters in New York.

We told you to be election week, so welcome to overtime. Good evening and welcome to the special election results edition of Meet the Press. Polls have been closed in much of the nation for more than 24 hours now, but we still do not know which party will control either the House or the Senate in January. We may think we know a little bit about the House, but we don't yet know about the Senate.

There are still millions of votes that are being tabulated. We still have a couple dozen House calls to make,

and we've got three key Senate races to decide. And as you can see here, our projection from the NBC News decision desk

has Republicans with a slight edge in the House projection-wise,

but at this hour, it is too close to call. So let me show you where we have. We have 33

uncalled races. Republicans have 210. They need eight more of these 33. I can tell you right now,

they're leading in 10 of them. Obviously, for Democrats to pull this off, they would need to win 26 of these 33.

They lead in 24 of them.

So right now, if you just accepted all the leads, our House breakdown would be 220 Republican, 215 Democrats.
